Evangelism
Sharing your faith is one of the most natural selfless desires found in the camp of believers and is the basis of biblical evangelism. Since Christ empowers every person that receives him with a new direction and a new purpose in life - essentially evangelistic in nature, one of the Christian's greatest joy and fulfillment in Christ comes by reaching out to others. We assist members of our fellowship who embraces this joy of faith sharing in communities where they live.
The pride of evangelism is to walk in the grace where God has made us free and to share the good news of this life with many who desperately need a reason to live.
To evangelize or disciple a person involves more than just sharing the gospel. Sharing the gospel is just the first of multiple phases designed to integrate the new member into a spirit-filled goal orientated life.
The Evangelism Ministry, affectionately called the E-Team, is composed of members that not only have a zeal for spreading the Word, but are committed to the spiritual support, growth, and development of everyone. The goal of this department is to make sure members are involved with a ministry best suited for them which is based on their interests, talents, and gifts.
The E-Team stands in the gap to provide, in fulfillment of its passion, a spiritual infrastructure that promotes growth.
Education
The Education Ministry of the church of Christ at North Meck is an active ministry focused on the growth of Christians through knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe consistent bible study, educational courses and application of bible principles serve to enhance the joy of learning the will of God.
The value of a strong Education Ministry prepares all saints for Christian conduct, biblical truth in doctrine, acceptable worship of God and ministry work. Therefore, our bible class teachers spend valuable time in the study of scriptures and designed lessons in advance of Wednesday and Sunday morning class. Our classes are interactive engaging the minds of the young and old.
Understanding the world we live in and the many challenges we are faced with daily, the impact of such an Education Ministry as ours can equip Christians for successful living now and in the world to come.
Please join us in the study of God's Word on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Ladies of Love
Presently, we are embarking upon a community-based effort that allows us to have an outreach and presence within our communities. It is the goal of the Women's Ministry to involve the women in activities designed for them, such as Ladies Retreats/Seminars, Ladies Bible Class, how-to workshops, just to name a few.
The Women Ministry of North Meck consists of various ministries which are designed to service the church at-large and the community. We love to show hospitality through our House-to-House fellowships under the direction of Demetria Ireland. This fellowship ministry brings together the membership over some wonderful home-cooked meals provided by our excellent cooks. Also, we indulge ourselves on the Word of God by our spiritual leader. Our members serve as hosts by opening up their homes to each and every one of us and our visitors. This ministry allows us to extend a warm welcome to all of our new members.
We have an outstanding Encouragement Ministry among the ladies under the direction of Rhonda Crowder. This ministry is responsible for purchasing cards and postage for the mailing of various cards to the membership for encouragement, birthdays/anniversaries, prayer requests, sympathy, and get well.
We have a monthly Prayer Breakfast for our sisters. This allows us the chance to get to know one another and to join in prayer together on each other's behalf. This is a very tearful and cleansing time for the ladies. We have spirit-filled games, a Word from the Lord, and of course, a wonderful hot breakfast.
Multi-Media
The Multi-Media Ministry is a unique area of ministry that is in support of all other ministries. The Multi-Media Ministry works in the background as well as the forefront of church ministries and aids in the success of each ministry.
Multi-Media Ministry is responsible for the promotion and advertising of the local church. This ministry works in these areas:
•Audio/Visual
•Gospel Meetings
•Community Outreach
•Radio/Television Programs
Audio/Visual, radio, news print and television programs include the recording of lessons from each Sunday along with gospel meetings. Media materials used in the advertisement and promotion of Evangelism and Education through radio commercials, flyers for upcoming gospel meetings and community outreach programs are supported through the Multi-Media Ministry. Newly formed television Bible Study programs such as Straight Talk and video lessons from Sunday are a part of the Multi-Media Ministry as well.
The Multi-Media Ministry is a supportive ministry that works interactively throughout all church ministries for the success and growth of the local church.
Tele-Touch
I have the privilege to be the Coordinator of the TeleTouch Ministry. The TeleTouch Ministry is a very simple program that was put together for new members in the faith. When we have someone who is recently baptized into the church, we need to have a system in place that puts the congregation in a position to be responsible for contacting and responding to these new babes in Christ. This service lets them know how much we love them and really care for their spirituality.
When someone is baptized, two members of the congregation are selected to call the new members during the week. An assessment form is filled out on each member in case they have any needs or concerns so we can aid them in a timely manner.
Each week we select two different members to call the new members. We continue this process for a month and by the end of the month each new member would have been contacted by at least 8 different members of the congregation.
This system is very beneficial to the retention of our new members because of their new life-changing experiences as a babe in Christ. When a new member receive phone calls of support by so many different members of the body, it causes them to feel reassured with the decision they have just made. They know that they are not alone and are very much loved.
Youth
There is a very active youth ministry at the Church of Christ at North Meck for children of all ages. Weoffer fun, opportunity, and Christ-centered activities intended to aid in spiritual, social, mental, and physical development.
Our youth program strives to build and reinforce positive mental attitudes needed to function as an intricate part of our faith community.
As stewards of these little blessings, our programs are uniquely structured to match personality with ability so that our youth are able to deepen their faith, broaden their knowledge, and develop proper perspective of God and man.
Our intent is to empower the youth of this congregation today - for service tomorrow - endeavoring to lay a good foundation for a lifelong formation of faith that will endure.
